VU Amsterdam Summer School

Located in one of the most dynamic and fastgrowing business districts in the Netherlands, it offers interactive small-scale courses (max. 25 students) in more than 20 topics. Current students, PhD staff and professionals are welcome to apply. The program includes excursions related to the content of the course and full support you during your stay in the Netherlands.

All courses are designed to provide an intensive, in-depth look at your topic of study. You engage in discussions with a unique group of peers from all over the world. Excursions related to the content, such as visits to the Anne Frank House, the International Criminal Court and the Port of Amsterdam, are always included.

The summer school team is there for you all the way, making sure you feel at home from the moment you arrive. We offer various accommodation options to all students and a social programme for those who wish to explore more. We are proud of our high student satisfaction. Last year the students with an average score of 8.6 out of 10. 

Good to know:

  • Early Bird Discount of €150 available if you apply and pay before 15 March 2018
  • Students of partner universities receive a discount of €250
  • Follow 2 courses: €200 discount, follow 3 courses: €300 discount.
  • 10 scholarships available that cover the full tuition and accommodation fees for one course

Courses: 

The summer programme consists of three sessions of two-week courses. You can combine courses to create a four to six-week study at VU Amsterdam. All courses are full-time, therefore you can follow only one per session.

The tuition fee of a two-week course is either €1000 or €1150. Please visit the website for the exact tuition fee of a course.

The tuition fee includes:

  • A transcript of records after completing the course

Not included:

  • The social programme
