The Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne (EWI), www.ewi.uni-koeln.de, is an internationally renowned research institute and think tank for energy economics. The federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia, the University of Cologne and partners from the German energy industry have contributed significant additional funds to support the Institute. 

In this context, the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne and the EWI seek to fill, as soon as possible, the position of a 

Full Professorship for Economics (W3)

Candidates should have an excellent research record in the area of applied economics, using methods primarily derived from microeconomic theory, econometrics and/or applied numerical simulation analysis. An active interest in pursuing energy-related research is desirable. Furthermore, it is expected that the candidate is committed to actively promoting EWI's research agenda. A co-operation with the newly established DFG research group, “Design & Behavior”, will be possible. 

The position is a full faculty position with tenure. For an initial phase of five years, the position will be affiliated with the EWI; during this initial phase, the teaching obligation will be significantly reduced. Classes may be taught in either English or German. 

The qualifications required are a university and PhD degree, excellent academic achievements and teaching abilities (§ 36 HG NRW). Applications from persons with disabilities are welcome.
