United Nations Environment Programme

In 1972 the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was established in Nairobi, Kenya as a working agency of the United Nations. UNEP focuses on promoting environmental activities, as well as good practices and policies, in developing countries. UNEP has created six regional offices and numerous country offices, which focus on projects concerning climate change, ecosystem management, conflicts and disasters, environmental governance, and resource efficiency.
