A five-week Summer School in Economics is offered by the Department of Economics of the Hebrew University, earmarked for international undergraduate and MA students with a background in Economics.

The program includes two major components:

  • Advancing the students' knowledge of Economics and research skills
The program includes a series of courses in Economics and Finance designed to prepare students for graduate studies (in the U.S. and Europe).

Classes involve core topics in accordance with the major courses offered in graduate schools, including:
    • Microeconomic Theory 1
    • Microeconomic Theory 2
    • Econometrics
    • Macroeconomics
    • Political Economy
    • Labor Economics
    • Finance
    • Economics Research Workshop - offering students an opportunity to engage themselves with a research activity with the supervision with a faculty member of the Department of Economics.

These courses are taught by leading Hebrew University faculty and supported by teaching assistants who meet with the students throughout the program.

  • Graduate application advising
Students receive individual assistance and advice in preparing application packages (including application forms, CV, statement of purpose, research agenda), as well as opportunities to meet with Ph.D. students and faculty members from institutions all over the world. This will enhance their chances of being accepted to a leading graduate program. Outstanding students may receive recommendation letters from program faculty, based on their performance at the Summer School. The School is committed to actively engaging itself to assist select students in gaining admission to leading graduate programs.

Students who attended the ISEE program  have been accepted to the following Ph.D. programs in the US:  NYU, Columbia, Harvard, Duke, UCLA, CalTech, University of Chicago and the University of Wisconsin Madison.
