The Governance and Regulation Chair has two openings for postdoctoral fellowships in economics.
Candidates must have a solid background in economics (in one or several of the following fields: institutional and organizational economics, industrial organization, political economy, public economics, law and economics, health economics, finance).One of them should have a solid expertise in quantitative methods.The other one should be able to manage comparative institutional analysis. Expertise in the economics of regulation or in health economics is welcome but not required.

About the research program on the Governance and Regulation of the Healthcare Provision in France:
The two positions are opened in the context of a research program on the regulation of the healthcare provision in France, which covers the funding mechanisms and the performance of the insurance industry. In particular the competition between various operators in the insurance industry, and the interplay between the governance of the
healthcare provision and the public systems of social protection will be analyzed in depth to better understand how the intertwined markets of healthcare supply and healthcare insurance could be more efficiently regulated and organized.
About the position:
The post-doctoral candidates will be working within the Research team made of researchers in economics, management, law, and political science. They will be expected to contribute to the above described research program. The latter targets the French case but will be partly based on the analysis of other national healthcare systems. This will involve the exploitation of existing databases, and the contribution to the development of innovative ones. Also, the Post-Doc will cooperate in the realization of transnational comparisons of different reforms. The project will benefit from cooperation with stakeholders of the French healthcare system. The postdoctoral fellow will also be involved in the organization of a regular seminar on the functioning and reforms of healthcare systems.
In line with French standards, the Post-Doctoral Researcher will be paid 28k€ net/year (subject to adjustments based on experience and family context), which includes social coverage.
18 months fixed-term contract.
This contract might be extended after the first period (up to a total of 3 years maximum).
Starting Month: February 2020.
- PhD in Economics, with a significant focus on quantitative methods.
- Linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English and in French will be considered as an advantage.
