The University of Vermont is seeking a doctoral-level Health Services Researcher to join the new Center for Health Services Research in the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine (LCOM). Successful applicants will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, on the Research Scholar Pathway, and will be granted a faculty appointment in a department appropriate to expertise and interests. This is an opportunity to join the Center at an exciting time, with Vermont embarking on a unique statewide all-payer accountable care organization model that will facilitate remarkable opportunities for innovated health services research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary center focused on evaluating the impact of innovative healthcare delivery models, chronic disease prevention and management, organization and financing of health care, integrated health information systems, health policy or other health service domains.

The successful candidate will conduct rigorous, externally funded research and potentially teach students in one or more of the LCOM’s graduate degree programs. We desire evidence of successfully working on interdisciplinary research teams and either hold or be expecting a doctoral level degree (MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent). We are particularly interested in expertise in quantitative health services research methods, experience using large healthcare databases for research purposes (such as EPIC or healthcare claims data) excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong commitment to academic research. Particular areas of interest include cost effectiveness research, implementation science, health economics and quality of care research. Demonstrated experience working with clinical faculty on health services research projects is desirable. Candidates with experience with extramural grant funding are particularly encouraged to apply.
