Position for FG IV Economic Analyst/ Microsimulation modelling
FG IV Economic Analyst/ Microsimulation modelling    The Fiscal Policy analysis unit (Unit B2) of JRC wishes to recruit two microsimulation modellers to work in the update and maintenance of the microsimulation model EUROMOD. The model covers personal income taxation, social security contributions and social benefits for the 28 EU Member States. The objective of the project is to ensure a regular and timely update and release of the model and to use the EUROMOD model in order to provide support to the European Commission policy recommendations.  

The successful candidates will contribute to the maintenance, update and documentation of the EUROMOD model in close collaboration with EUROMOD national teams and ESTAT. They will contribute to the timely public release of the model and will collaborate in the coordination of the preparation of EUROMOD annual country reports, will animate annual EUROMOD conferences and EUROMOD project meetings. They will also contribute to support the Fiscal Policy Analysis unit for the modelling of tax reforms, in particular in the context of the European Semester policy cycle. He/she should have a solid background in one of the following fileds: tax policy, social policy, inequalities or poverty analyses. The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in micro-data analysis, statistics and/ or microsimulation modelling. Previous experience with the EUROMOD microsimulation model coding and data preparation would be a distinctive asset. A good command of softwares such as Stata and a track record of research and publications in the area of tax and social policy are also welcome. Modelling and analytical tasks will involve collaboration with other European Commission services, in particular ESTAT and other relevant international organizations and research institutions, in particular the EUROMOD national country teams. 

Candidates should ideally have a PhD (doctoral diploma) or a minimum of 5 years professional experience after university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma. A good level of written and spoken English is essential.
