General SummaryThe Finance Analyst is responsible for performing financial reporting, analysis and providing financial data support. The position will partner with our Information Technology function and is responsible for financial planning, budget management and reporting. This position will also aide decision-making processes within the function while delivering a positive impact on the financial management of the department and organization. This position will also be responsible for administering purchasing functions within the department, including the analysis that will optimize purchasing needs and improve forecasting accuracy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works as an effective partner to the function by providing analysis and guidance on financial related issues and by preparing accurate and timely financial reporting, including budgeting and forecasting reports

  • Works effectively across departments in order to resolve issues

  • Interprets financials and is able to communicate the key drivers affecting the budget; supports the department with detailed report analysis on major cost categories

  • Provides recommendations on cost savings and efficiencies for the function

  • Accountable for accuracy and identifying and implementing changes on financial accounts, reports and administrative or data processing systems

  • Effectively engages and supports all levels of the department as well as vendor organizations in meeting financial analysis and purchasing needs, when appropriate

  • Submits and tracks purchase orders and receipts

  • Reviews and releases “on hold” purchase orders

  • Reviews, investigates and reconciles invoice discrepancies

  • Completes special projects and ad-hoc reporting as assigned

In addition to the PolyOne Competencies required for all jobs, the following qualifications are required for this job:

Knowledge/Education/Certifications

  • SAP and Ariba experience not required but a plus

Experience

  • 1+ years’ experience in purchasing and/or procurement preferred

Skills

  • Flexibility to handle changing requirements and multiple projects

  • Willingness to take on new challenges and achieve results with urgency

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to apply complex analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Self-motivated and able to effectively prioritize responsibilities
