The Graduate Programme Competition Economics and the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at the Department of Business Administration and Economics of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf invite applications for two non-tenured

Ph.D. Positions
(75 %; EG 13 TV-L)

All positions are to be filled for initially two years, starting on 01.10.2018 or earlier. The positions are qualification positions in the sense of the Act of Academic Fixed-Term Contract (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG), which is to promote the scientific qualification of the employees.

The Graduate Programme Competition Economics is a PhD programme, funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG GRK 1974) and organised by the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE). The programme’s specific focus on Competition Economics in teaching and research and the close links of DICE into competition policy practice provide an excellent platform for the education of doctoral students in Germany and Europe. Besides Competition Economics and Policy, we generally supervise research topics in Applied Microeconomics (for example, International Trade, Behavioural Economics, Experimental Economics or Economics of Innovation). The programme’s scope is interdisciplinary since law and management science are well integrated. PhD students participate in courses and seminars that focus on the topics of the Graduate Programme.

We are looking for talented and motivated applicants with a strong interest in Competition Economics who hold a master’s degree in Economics or in another quantitative-mathematical subject.

The exact salary will depend on the personal qualification of the applicant up to EG 13 TV-L.
