You will be responsible for coding, data management, and data analysis. We welcome involvement in actually studying the topic with us (reviewing relevant literature and active participation in writing the articles). We are open to co-authoring.

 

We offer a two-year part-time or full-time research assistant position for our new projects:

§  FlexIN led by Joanna Tyrowicz [working time flexibility and labor market inequality]

§  HEUquality led by Magdalena Smyk [stereotypes, heuristics and inequality]

§  EMPATHY led by Marek Weretka↗ [empathy and sentiment in strategic games]

Requirements: Good command of English and knowledge of STATA or R are a must. We welcome applications from candidates who have interest in applied and quantitative economics. The project will feature parallel processing of many standard data as well as working with dataset in excess of 10GB. We thus particularly value interest in empirical analyses, especially in labor economics, prior experience with microeconometrics methods is appreciated but not a prerequisite.

Tasks: The assistants will be responsible for coding, data management, and data analysis. We welcome involvement in actually studying the topic with us (reviewing relevant literature and active participation in writing the articles). We are open to co-authoring by the research assistants.

Conditions: We offer a scholarship (“stypendium") of up to 5000 PLN per month in net terms. The expected contract duration will be between two years (depending on the project, cooperation may be extended, subject to obtaining new funding). The work load of approximately 30-35 hours per week is expected. The working hours are rather flexible and task-oriented. However, the assistant is required to meet with the project team on a regular basis.

The project is financed by the National Science Center, hence candidates are only eligible if they are enrolled in MA or PhD program. Inclusion of parts of the research in PhD/MA thesis is possible. The assistant will also be able to use the office facilities for own work (non-commercial use).
