Local Unit & Position Description

GSS has consolidated the HR service delivery into Regional Centres where proximity to the Business Areas is required and has built a Global Centre HR in Poland that delivers HR services that are location independent or can be digitalized. The GSS HR Region West, South and East Europe (WSEE) provides HR services to approximately 2.000 employees located across 20 countries, of which France is one of them. In France we service 5 Business Areas with 120 employees. We provide services like HR advisory, recruitment, compensation & benefits, labour law advice, global mobility and HSE.  



The HR Expert is a trusted expert in France within Benefits, Labor Law, International assignment activities, pension & insurances and last but not least payroll related topics. You consult and advise the Business Area line managers and BA HR Managers in France when expert competence is needed. The HR Expert also supports the Country Chairs and senior country management to ensure compliance with local laws and requirements. You translate the DNV GL policies to local schemes and align them with the local law.


You will act as point of contact on questions routed via the GSS Global Centre HR in Poland, where the complexity of a related question requires alignment with the business or local expertise. You will be the process owner for the Global Centre, instructing them on the applicable rules and legislations. Key topic is the process owner role for payroll, you monitor and control the services of the global payroll team in Poland and the payroll vendor.


As HR Expert, you will further develop your understanding of our various business areas operational challenges and needs, you are customer centric and have deep HR knowledge within your areas of expertise. You report to the HR Advisor France and work closely with your HR Expert counterparts of the other countries in the region WSEE. The position is based in Paris and local conditions apply.


Key tasks:

  • Payroll process owner: clarify the payroll process for the payroll team in Poland and the payroll vendor

  • Control the monthly payroll run and provide payroll data regarding the regular audits

  • Inform the payroll provider about sick leaves, maternity and paternity leaves (IJ-services)

  • Take care of the social declarations

  • Advice on changes in labor law and changes in HR related tax, payroll and social security topics

  • Manage the pension and insurances contracts end benefit programs

  • Monitor the performance of external service providers

  • Manage the bonus Participation process with all stakeholders (including the bank)

  • Provide reports to the works council meetings

  • Manage the international assignees cases in close cooperation with the HR Advisor

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years HR experience, especially in payroll processes and preferably in labor law
  • Experience in a multinational environment 
  • Professional proficiency in relevant HR systems & tools
  • English and French language skills required, written and verbal
