Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze/Process requests for information from customs brokers on import entries.  Could include review of classification, valuation, country of origin or importer of record determination, free trade applicability, Partner Government Agency (PGA) applicability, missing documents, etc.  Must be able to validate data on invoices to internal systems; i.e., knowledge and proficiency with internal systems in order to perform job function.
  • Action requests for clearance status from internal business on import entries.  Proactively work with customs brokers to resolve any issues preventing clearance.
  • Maintain US Recordkeeping compliance for the business.  Work with customs brokers to ensure all import entry documents are loaded into internal electronic repository and verified monthly.
  • Monitor imports for exams and maintain exam history file.
  • Post Entry Audit functions including determination of post summary correction.
  • Update monthly brokerage report with imported quantities.
  • Monthly review and application of US Import Assists.
  • Develop and/or maintain desk level procedures for your position/function within the Trade Compliance organization.
  • Provide coverage and assistance to other team members during time off or as needed.  Could include, but not limited to, Audits, Recordkeeping, Broker Requests, Classification, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of international import compliance regulations through official publications and formal trainings.
  • Work with management to execute departmental projects.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to work in a stressful, diverse environment. Must be self-motivated and able to set priorities and objectives

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2 years of experience in telecommunications, engineering or international trade compliance preferred in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Must be able to perform variety of tasks with minimal direction
  • US Customs brokerage license preferred but not required.
  • Excellent oral, written, problem solving skills and ability to establish priorities required. Knowledge of MS Office, Oracle, SAP. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with high attention to detail required.
  • Import/Export Compliance trainings and certifications preferred but not required.
