The Inside Sales Associate will cultivate growth of WuXi STA’s small molecule, Oligonucleotide and Peptide CMC business by working together with Marketing along with the North American and European Business Development teams. The Inside Sales Associate is a key contributor to the sales cycle supporting our overall Lead Management process. The Inside Sales Associate will be responsible for driving incremental growth by delivering qualified opportunities from multiple lead-generation sources to our field Business Development team. Elements of strategic planning, sales, sales-support processes, marketing & promotions will be routinely engaged in this role.
• Act as WuXi STA’s first point of contact to prospective customers, identifying their needs and aligning with internal capabilities• Manage leads from multiple sources to deliver qualified opportunities to the field Business Development teams• Engage with field Business Development staff for development and execution of prospect lists and territory plans• Execute campaigns to support directed lead generation for identified capabilities or company/molecule profiles• Support Marketing initiatives, maximizing translation of inbound leads from marketing activities to qualified contacts and opportunities• Provide feedback to BD Team and Marketing to improve target profiling, prioritization, and qualification criteria used for Lead Management• Collaborate with Sales Operations and field Business Development staff to effectively identify qualified opportunities which meet the business unit’s strategic goals• Promote customer service excellence through hand-off of qualified opportunities• Respond to client inquiries and offer guidance on appropriate products and services • Possesses a working understanding of company products/services and utilizes sales techniques effectively• Travel with Business Development and/or Marketing up to 25% of the time.• Understand WuXi STA’s existing business- utilize knowledge of accounts to make informed decisions on tactical sales efforts to drive further traction, account penetration, and lead generation.• Meet routinely with the Sr. Director of Business Development and VP of Business Operations to ensure coordinated efforts through North America and Europe are being achieved. • Maintain a system to keep track of target/prospect lists by account, functional groups, service area. Grow lists, and routinely grooms target lists for relevance – align to CRM system.• Responsible for establishing necessary legal documentation(CDAs) to allow for progression of lead qualification activities• Support the proposal development & revision process for San Diego site account management as required. • Develop a level of competence, while continuing education to develop strong understanding of the drug development industry including market, service, and customer dynamics. • Maintain a system to track and trigger follow-up to prospecting efforts, and opportunities in progress, for gathering client feedback and expediting client decisions.• Aid review and the tracking of account or service-level trends, identifying gaps and potential areas of opportunity. • Complete administrative / documentation (i.e. activity & opportunity reports, and expense reports) in a timely manner.• Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.• Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Education • Position typically requires a bachelor's degree, experience in the life sciences industry or scientific degree, as well as 2+ years of relevant sales experience and/or working knowledge of the CDMO space.
• Tremendous charisma and unique intrapersonal skillsets to develop and drive mutually beneficial relationships. • Entrepreneurial ability to manage multiple broad responsibilities & projects simultaneously; high level of organization and attention to detail.• Natural tendency to direct and be self-governing. • High-level of professionalism, salespersonship. • Skilled in data analysis and ability to interpret complex market/sales data to propose solutions.• Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities, timelines and projects simultaneously. • Strong computer skills; well informed with technology and proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.• Experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems (Salesforce) preferred.
