Investor Relations Consultant

A Day in the Life:
  • Track detailed analyst estimates on the company and competitors and provide comprehensive insight to IR management
  • Partner with IR Director and Corporate Finance (e.g., FP&A, external reporting) to provide value-added insights about analyst estimates to CFO
  • Prepare and / or review weekly update on stock performance and valuation summary for Medtronic senior executives
  • Maintain and analyze various financial and market models on the company and the industry, providing comprehensive insights to IR management
  • Provide comprehensive insight to IR management on analyst reports and news flow written on the company, competitors, and the industry
  • Assess existing processes for efficiency and optimization and influence change
  • Gather, analyze, and coordinate data in preparation for the company’s quarterly earnings calls
  • Partner with IR Director to create investor and other related presentations for the CEO, CFO, and senior executives
  • Work with internal partners in corporate, business units, and geographies to complete investor relations tasks
  • Partner with IR Director to prepare for the company’s investor events, including Investor Day and medical conference presentations
  • Develop an understanding of the company’s strategy, its businesses, and its competitive environment
  • Communicate company’s strategy to external audiences, including analysts and investors
Must Have: Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Marketing
  • 10+ years of finance, accounting, economics or marketing experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 8+ years of finance, accounting, economics or marketing experience with a Master’s Degree
  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Nice to Have:
  • Prior experience in Medtronic business unit or corporate finance role
  • Experience working on financial and/or analytic projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work on a small team
  • Advanced skills in financial accounting and modelling, including an advanced understanding of all financial statements and financial modeling
  • High degree of interpersonal maturity, diplomacy, judgment, and discretion
  • Quick study, flexible, adapts easily to change, thrives in uncertain and sometimes crises-ridden environments, excellent stamina and high tolerance for ambiguity
