This is achieved through global data governance, processes and solutions in a culture of continuous improvement. In the data champion/domain owner role, you will set strategic direction, influence leadership, and collaborate with peers, stakeholders and customers to provide trusted views of core supplier data. This role brings business savvy and supplier data and process expertise together with strong analytical and strategic mindset and relationship and project management effectiveness to ensure design and implementation of foundational supplier data definitions, processes, people/roles and systems that support business needs and priorities. This person will lead the organization in defining what is core supplier master data (scope, definitions) and implementing a best-in-class data management and governance approach to ensure reliability and accessibility of that data globally. This person will be the gatekeeper of the global supplier data domain and its backlog of work (new projects, enhancements, expansion) and will manage the prioritization and scheduling of the work according to defined timelines and funding. A DAY IN THE LIFE• Key strategic direction leader for the Supplier master data domain for all of Medtronic• Influence the strategic direction of Supplier MDM with potential stakeholders • Help determine the appropriate organizational structures for supporting the Supplier domain including: governance structure and roles, data stewardship/ownership, data management processes, data quality visibility and dependability, Supplier data management toolsets, etc.• Provide strategic guidance to initiatives and project teams that need to consume Supplier master data ensuring accessible and secure core, critical Supplier data • Determine the high-level activities to support solutions that will utilize Supplier master data• Determine and drive plan for mastering core, critical supplier data efficiently, effectively and timely • Enable creation, maintenance, cleansing and enrichment of core Supplier master data• Coordinate with project leadership, business stakeholders, IT, and external partners during the course of specific projects – represent the MDM workstream, including coordinating infrastructure provisioning and planning• Identify overlaps and dependencies with related projects and coordinate planning and path forward• Plan for future enhancements/releases to the Supplier MDM capabilities• Work proactively with the Global Security Office, and any other influencers, on the strategic planning to ensure the security and adherence to data privacy, laws, security of the Supplier data asset• Determine and oversee the appropriate data quality metrics associated with Supplier master dataBaseline Responsibilities• Internal consultant in master data management and governance• Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, and/or prioritizing information technology projects and process improvement initiatives and facilitating successful, on-time and within budget execution• Partner with business units, global functions and regions to ensure data needs are met and support projects• Sets clear direction and management objectives that aligns with defined practices and policies and enhances the organization's internal information systems performance and facilitates adoption of new technologies and systems.• Interacts and works closely with other departments to understand and address organization's technical and business needs.• Directs day to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountability for deliverables across multiple internal and external stakeholders such as Procurement, Accounts Payable/Shared Services, Regulatory, IT, Advanced Analytics, Quality, and external partners.• Establishes meaningful metrics and tracks against them.• Responsible for project performance, risk management, administration, financial management, budgeting and issue resolution. MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)• Bachelor’s degree• 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience with an advanced degree• 2+ years data governance experience• 2+ years supplier data management or analysis experience NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)• Previous Medtronic experience or healthcare industry experience • Preference given to current Medtronic employees• Priority consideration will be given to local applicants• Experience with the governance and implementation of Master Data Management solutions supporting products, customers, suppliers, physicians, and/or patients• Experience with the Informatica MDM platform• Experience with supplier data structures and management of supplier data in SAP• Experience with other supplier portals, platforms and validation services• Experience with navigating data privacy and GDPR requirements and best practices in the master data management space• Strategic mindset to help shape and drive Supplier master data strategy and roadmap to aid in delivering a best-in-class master data management capability• A passion for master data management, for tinkering with datasets and systems and an appreciation for data driven decisions• Software testing in a regulated environment including ISO 13485, FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820, Sarbanes- Oxley (SOX), HIPAA and regulatory compliance of IT systems• Technologies experience to include: SAP, Informatica Supplier 360, data security, data catalog and big data management toolset experience, HP ALM, SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle), CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) and product defect analysis.
