Organizational Setting

The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.


Reporting Lines


Under the general supervision of the AFAOR (Administrative), the Junior Logistics Assistant will work under direct supervision of  the Senior Administrative & Logistics Assistant and his/her main mission will be to provide logistics and overall support in the organization of the below listed tasks.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the  AFAOR (Administrative in Mozambique, and reporting directly to the Senior Administrative and Logistics Assistant, the Junior Logistic Assistant will:

  • Make sure that Staff documentation are handled in due time;
  • Perform office maintenance needs and recurrent supplies are handled;
  • Update office assets lists in all relevant Organization Systems;
  • Ensure that office goods and services are duly received and registered;
  • Perform other related duties as required, including.
  • Screen documents between Logistics and other Departments;
  • Be responsible for the Department Archive;
  • Be responsible for the Stationary;
  • Supervise the works of the service providers in the office premises (Air Conditioning, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, etc.);
  • Reception of miscellaneous goods (equipment, stationery and others);
  • Actively participate in the delivery of goods to partners;
  • Make payment requests for running expenses of the Representation;
  • Realization of physical verification inventory;
  • Support the Finance and IT units;
  • Perform other activities inherent in the position.
Minimum Requirements   
  • Secondary education;
  • Relevant working experience in Logistics;
  • Full working knowledge of the local and English languages;
  • National of Mozambique.

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Work experience in more than one location or area of work;
  • Extent and relevance of experience in field based projects.
