The Department is seeking to make a number of fixed-term appointments at Lecturer level for the Academic Year 2019-2020, until 30 June 2020.
Duties of the Role
The main duties of the role will include teaching undergraduate/postgraduate modules in theoretical and applied economics, supervision of undergraduate and/or postgraduate projects in addition to providing support for other teaching-related and recruitment activities and carrying out any assessment and examination duties including marking. Minor administrative work may also be required.
You will be expected to contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering, substantive and effective teaching and learning support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and enhance the scholarly reputation of the Department and the University by contact with the wider academic community and participation in knowledge exchange activity whilst in this role.

Qualifications and Skills required
Applications are invited from all fields and candidates should have a relevant doctoral level degree (PhD) in Economics, or a closely related field (or be close to completion of studies) or equivalent professional experience or practice.
The successful candidates will have experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to achieve this and should, desirably have demonstrable high quality research potential with evidence of a high quality research agenda, engagement in high–quality research activity and a developing research profile. You should also have experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to design, plan and develop learning activities and effective learning environments assessing undergraduate and postgraduate modules, particularly in Economics, and be able to supervise thesis work at the undergraduate or post-graduate (taught) level.
These posts are available on a teaching only (ASE) contract, available on a full-time basis, though part-time working hours will be considered.
