Performance Excellence Manager

  • Maintain and improve the management systems andensure compliance to standards

  • Perform process reviews, work with stakeholdersto update/create business processes

  • Conduct internal process/system audits toconfirm compliance to standards and identify improvement opportunities

  • Assess risk and impact of any issues identifiedduring audits; follow up, track, and verify effectiveness of management actionto address audit issues

  • Administer corrective/preventive action process

  • Maintain process asset library (Control ofmanagement system documents)

  • Maintain risk/opportunity process andcommunication with action owners

  • Support management reviews by collecting andanalyzing data and updating presentations and action log

  • Prepare for and participate in externalassessments (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 20000, CMMI)

  • Work collaboratively with staff and managementto accomplish objectives

  • Drive the use of process metrics for continuousimprovement

  • Travel between local sites to work with processowners and stakeholders

  • Provide assistance with special projects, asneeded

  • Attend training as needed to maintain knowledgein current standards and methods

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-relateddiscipline

  • 10 years of experience with quality management,process improvement, internal auditing; 5 years preferred in a Governmentcontracting environment

  • 5 years of experience with international andindustry management system standards

  • Familiarity with Agile software development aplus

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint,Visio

  • Ability to effectively present information toand interact well with different levels in the organization

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Possess strong analytical skills and demonstrateability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions andsolve problems

  • High attention to detail

Essential Functions

Physical Requirementsof Position: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods oftime. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen.Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching,turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficientmanner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location ofwork, walking moderate to long distances may be required. May require travel toother sites in the National Capital Region. No strenuous physical activityrequired.

Work Environment: Generally an office environment but can involve inside or outside workdepending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations:close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside workmay include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates.Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels ofmanagement. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site islocated in Dulles, VA.

Equipment andMachines: Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer,printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment includingdesk supplies and other work-related tools as required.

Attendance: Regular hours will be Monday โ€“ Friday 8:00am โ€“ 5:00pm.Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical,except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance arenecessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjustto surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other EssentialFunctions: Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealingwith customers, management, and co-workers. Must have clear, concise, andaccurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Groomingand dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safetyrisk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere bybehaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personaltransportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and fromcustomerโ€™s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects.This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly bemade for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, mustwear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicleis in motion. Must take and pass a drug test and background check. Must putforward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotesteamwork and cooperation. Must be able to communicate effectively, bothverbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with individualsat all levels of the organization. Must be willing to travel as needed.
