The University of Münster is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the proportion of women academics. Consequently, we actively encourage applications by women. Female candidates with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered within the framework of the legal possibilities. We also welcome applications from candidates with severe disabilities. Disabled candidates with equivalent qualifications will be preferentially considered.
The Institute for Econometrics and Business Statistics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster is offering a three-year temporary position for a
Research Associate / PhD candidate (m/f) (salary level TV-L 13, 75%)
(wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin/ wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)
with three quarters of the regular working time starting at the earliest possible date. The regular full-time working hours are currently 39 hours and 50 minutes per week. All posts can, as a rule, also be filled as part-time positions if there are no compelling work-related reasons against doing so.
You have a university degree, preferably in economics, econometrics, statistics or mathematics. A macroeconomic/macroeconometric specialization and experience in dealing with DSGE, (S)VAR and/or state space models are welcome. You are interested in the further development of statistic-econometric methods and their innovative application within the scope of the DFG project „Identification and Estimation of DSGE Models: Skewness matters“. You have an affinity for innovative teaching in terms of content and technology and have good skills in relevant programming packages (e.g. Dynare, Matlab, R, Python or Julia). The possibility to obtain a PhD is offered and encouraged.
In addition to research and the opportunity to obtain a further academic qualification (usually a doctorate), the tasks also include supporting the chair's activities, e.g. in the area of teaching (3 SWS) and organisation.
The principal investigator Dr. Willi Mutschler (email@example.com) will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the vacancy or the DFG project.
Applicants should submit their applications by email together with the usual documents by February, 1 2019 to
