Sr. Analyst-Index Administration Services

Index Administration Services is looking for a highly experienced and dynamic individual to take responsibility for the support and maintenance of its financial data data, a critical component of the business.

This is a experienced role, reporting to the data operations lead. The candidate will be required to support daily business as usual for index calculations by ensuring that data has loaded successfully, is of excellent quality and in time to meet strict calculation deadlines; support new index builds by sourcing and mapping all underlying data in accordance with the index methodology and IOSCO compliance standards; and identifying and implementing enhancements to workflows and systems in order better support the data needs of the business. The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus with the understanding that the data product is used by both internal and external clients.

Duties & accountabilities

—    Have detailed knowledge of financial markets data across all asset classes—    Ensure that the data universe is compliant with the IOSCO “Principles for Financial Benchmarks” and maintained in accordance with industry best practice—    Have an excellent understanding of our supported index methodologies and underlying data requirements—    Manage incoming data and exceptions in a timely manner and within strict deadlines—    Fully understand the business critical service levels in order to consistently meet client agreed service levels—    Identify requirements and support the sourcing, mapping and compliance of underlying data for new index builds—    Identify data related improvements and system inefficiencies and raise with relevant stakeholders—    Drive prioritised data related projects to improve workflows, data quality and systems for supported data—    Co-ordinate the development and undertake testing of all system enhancements thoroughly prior to final sign off and implementation—    Represent the data operations team on all cross-team projects ensuring that data controls and workflows are being considered in all new development—    Manage vendor requests and escalations directly with vendors—    Investigate and respond to all data related customer requests within strict time frames—    Document supporting processes and workflows and share knowledge and training with the team—    Create and maintain regular management information statistics for data operations and provide timely updates to stakeholders

Education and experience    -    Experience in data analysis applied to traded financial instruments, gained within banking or financial services-    Proficiency in relevant vendor feeds-    Experience in manipulation and validation of large and complex sets of traded information 

-    Strong analytical and problem solving skills

-    Good undergraduate or Master’s degree from a recognised university in a numerical, financial or technical discipline

Commercial awareness    -    Appreciation of the business criticality of data quality, gained within previous roles-    A good understanding of the data landscape is importantPersonal impact    -    Highly motivated and eager to take the initiative

-    Excellent attention to detail, both numerically and in written material

-    Willingness to be hands-on in dealing with issues and queries relating to data

Communication    -    Extremely good interpersonal and communication skills are required to ensure the cooperation and coordination amongst the various team members and teams involved.-    As an experienced team member, you will work with the business and customers providing timely resolutions to their queries. This position will be responsible for all data tasks to ensure all business groups are well informed and the information is updated accurately and routinely.

Teamwork    -    Ability to function well within a team environment alongside operational analysts, product experts and developers is essential.-    Ability to share knowledge and ensure that supporting teams are aware of any new business, processes and workflows
