Programme Overview:

We are delighted to offer up to four fully funded teaching scholarships for our MRes to PhD programmes. http://business-school.exeter.ac.uk/study/doctoral/.

The Teaching PhD Bursary provides a pathway for individuals with a proven track record of excellence and success – whether inside or outside of academia – to become successful research-active academics in a high-quality teaching environment.

Students will be employed as Postgraduate Teaching Assistants, providing the opportunity to gain teaching experience and achieve academic excellence by providing high levels of professional support and teaching-related mentoring, whilst undertaking the MRes to PhD programme.

Our MRes Economics is offered over two years full-time with the first year being designed to equip students with the tools required to understand and conduct research: core economic models, econometric techniques and research methods. The second year allows students to specialise in modules covering advanced topics in the fields of econometric theory, empirical economics, microeconomic theory and macroeconomic theory.

Our MRes Management programme is offered over one year full-time and has been designed to deliver comprehensive research training to equip students with the required methods, techniques and specialist subject knowledge to enable graduates to understand and conduct high quality research in Management.

Upon successful completion of the MRes programme, which includes writing a research dissertation, and subject to meeting the PhD entry criteria, students will move to a full-time PhD programme in either Accounting, Economics, Finance or Management under the supervision of leading academics in the field.

How to apply:

If you would like to apply for funding to support your MRes to PhD you can fill out our funding application form via the links below. Please note, we will consider all MRes scholarship applicants for a place on the programme, whether or not their funding application is successful. Therefore a separate programme application is not required.
