CommScope is hiring a Team Leadfor an opportunity located in Mission, Texas.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating activities in shipping, receiving and inventory processes.  Assists Warehouse Supervisor in site management of safety, staffing, shipping, receiving and storage.  Ensure all delivery, receiving and inventory processes (stocking, picking, packing and loading) are completed per work instructions and priority.  Schedule training and/or guidance to shipping and receiving staff as required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB DUTIES: 

  • Allocates tasks to proper material handlers as per order priority.  Utilizes all resources in the warehouse area to ensure that all orders are shipped and received as per customer delivery and planning requirements.  Ensures that all processes (stocking, picking, packing, loading, etc.) complies with CommScope specifications and/or customer requirements.  Weekly assignment of end of day duties to be signed off by employees he/she directs.
  • Responsible for overseeing work allocation in the warehouse.  Maintains the work site and materials for safety and housekeeping by performing and documenting daily Gemba walks focusing on 5S completion.  Ensures that facility/equipment/tools/ operators work in compliance with safety guidelines.  Conduct and document daily PIV Safety and Toolbox talks with all employees he/she directs.  Conduct new hire and site orientation.
  • Communicates with Traffic, Carriers and Freight Forwarders to execute daily/weekly delivery schedules.  Performs follow-up on pending or problem orders and communicates any important and/or unresolvable issues to WH Supervisor.  Files/manages related shipping, receiving and inventory documents.
  • Conduct interviews and forklift assessment for Material Handler candidates as part of the pre-employment screening process.  Provide scheduled documented performance evaluations of new hires and employees he/she directs.  Responsible for organizing training plan with WH Supervisor and Trainer for developing EHS, team skills and team building exercises.  May be required to train employees on request.
  • Ensures that all preventative maintenance work is completed on time for all equipment including forklift, stretch wrap machine, label printers, scales, etc.  Performs safety stock management for all consumable materials including nails, labels, stretch wrap, dunnage, pallets, etc. 
  • Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, technical data, safety rules, maintenance instructions, work instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to develop and proof training materials.
  • Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees.
  • Good command of the English language.   Bilingual a plus. 
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.  Mission, TX warehouse environment includes varying temperatures (heat and cold) and dust.
