Open Call within the Joint Program of German Federal and State Governments for the Promotion of Early Career Researchers
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences invites applications for the position of a Tenure Track Professor (W1) of Sustainable Behavior and Business
at the Institute of Education, Labor and Society to be filled in the winter semester 2022/2023. The professorship is funded by the joint program of German federal and state governments for the promotion of early career researchers. This is a grade W1-professorship for which recruitment payments can be offered.
The Faculty is interested in excellent applicants (m/f/d) who investigate the topic of sustainability from the perspective of behavioral economics, business, sociology, or psychology. The focus of the tenure track professorship is on the individual (micro) level, for example on environmental, sociological and environmental-psychological issues and/or individual and collective decision making behavior as well as processes and dynamics with regard to sustainable behavior and socio-economic contexts. Applicants are expected to have excellent theoretical and empirical knowledge in the area of sustainable trade and economic activity, as evidenced by relevant national and international publications. Sound methodological skills in empirical social research are desirable. The successful candidate is expected to procure external funding and participate in the Faculty's research focus "Work, Digitalization, and Sustainability". The teaching load will comprise four contact hours per week. The successful candidate should be able to offer courses in German and English in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of the Faculty, especially in the Bachelor’s program "Sustainability and Change".
The position offers attractive conditions for tenure-track appointees. This professorship is particularly suitable for highly qualified early career researchers. The requirements for an appointment are a completed university degree, pedagogical suitability and a doctorate of outstanding quality.
If the requirements for civil service are met, the appointment will be a temporary civil service position for six years. After six years, the applicant may be appointed to a W3-position if the requirements described in the University’s quality assurance guidelines are met. The appointment to a W3-position may be done without any additional call for applications and through a simplified appointment process.
