The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) invites applications for two full-time professor positions starting September 1, 2013
- Professorship in Financial Accounting
- Professorship in Managerial Accounting
Applicants must have teaching and research experience in one of the two fields. They should have demonstrated their ability to publish regularly in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will be in charge of teaching Financial Accounting or Managerial Accounting at the Bachelor and Master level. Part of the Master courses must be in English.
For the Financial Accounting position, the candidate's specialization should relate to the core topics in the field (e.g. financial statements analysis, accounting standards, regulation, economic impact of accounting choices, auditing).
For the Managerial Accounting position, the candidate's specialization should focus on the core topics in the field (e.g. control, performance measurement, conception of incentive systems and/or management systems). However, candidates specializing in a closely related field (e.g. organisation, corporate governance, or health management) will also be given
Teaching languages are French and English for one position and German and English for the other position (the specific allocation will be made during the recruitment process). As the University of Fribourg is a bilingual institution (French/German), passive knowledge of the other language (German/French) is expected in the medium term.
Successful candidates must have a doctoral degree in the field, a high-quality publication record and relevant teaching experience. The appointment will be at the associate or full professor level, commensurate with experience and qualification.
