The PhD program in Analytics for Economics and Management (AEM) aims at training high profile scientists and experts, able to apply analytical and computational tools to data to the goal of making complex decisions in Economics and Management. They will have advanced methodological foundations in
- Models and Methods for Economics and Finance
- Operations Research
with applications to several areas, such as Business, Economics, Energy, Environment, Finance, Logistics and Sports. The program has 3 curricula: Models and Methods for Economics and Finance, Operations Research, and Statistics
The progam is structured in three years:
- The first year is mainly dedicated to take courses: 4 common mandatory courses (Analytical methods for economics and finance, Quantitative micoreconomics, Linear programming and Statistical inference and probability) and 5 curriculum specific courses (3 mandatory and 2 elective courses). Students will also attend seminars, and define the topic of their PhD thesis.
- Students are admitted to the second year only if they pass all the first year exams. The second year is mainly dedicated to the PhD thesis, with an extended period abroad to work on the project in cooperation with top scholars and to attend courses.
- The third year is dedicated to the PhD thesis.
The University of Brescia offers six 3-year scholarship of € 13,638.47, the total grant may be increased by 50% for periods of research abroad for a continuous period of at least 15 days, for a total duration of no more than 18 months over three years.
