This two-year programme provides the necessary background for students to carry out rigorous economic analysis in questions of interest for policy and business. The programme offers accordingly advanced knowledge in the core subject areas econometrics, macroeconomics, and microeconomics. Moreover, it offers students the possibility to shape their own profile by concentrating in two of the following specialisation areas: banking and financial markets, behavioural economics, competition and regulation, macroeconomic policy, policy evaluation.

Requirements

The MA Applied Economics is aimed at students who have already completed any bachelor's or diploma programme and have a minimum background (equivalent to 6 ECTS) in each of the following areas: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Mathematics, Statistics.

University of Vienna's Bachelor graduates in Economics, Business, and International Business, as well as students who have completed the University of Vienna's Extension Curricula "Quantitative Principles of Economics" and "Economic Methods" qualify automatically.
