Boot Camp and Welcome Orientation Week
The Boot Camp and Welcome Orientation Week will kick off the academic year prior to the beginning of first-year classes at the end of September 2020. Included will be a guided tour of Florence, orientation of the new downtown campus facilities as well as the EUI libraries and facilities in Fiesole. Housing assistance and social events will also be part of the welcome week activities. Students will also partake in an introductory workshops on research methods and Transnational Governance, as well as Italian classes.
First year: Foundation Coursework
During the first year, students will acquire strong and interdisciplinary foundations in Transnational Law, Politics and Institutions, Economics, and a historical perspective on Transnational Governance. They will understand the emergence, actors and practices of Transnational Governance; the drivers of the contemporary shift in global interdependence and its implications for democratic systems.
In between the first year foundation courses and the second year consolidation theme specialisations, students will acquire practical experiences during which they can begin to apply their first-year learnings in a professional environment. Students will explore internship opportunities with myriad partner organisations, and are encouraged to bring forward oppotunities of specific interests to them.
Second year: Elective Coursework & Executive Training Participation
During the second year, students will specialise in one Consolidation Theme (CT) and choose between writing a Master's Thesis or designing a capstone project report. They will also have access to a range of Executive Training Seminars to advance their professional skills development and network with attending practitioners.
