Xavier established the first graduate Montessori teacher education program in the nation in 1965 and has been a leader ever since.

Xavier now offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in Montessori, teacher licensing and credentialing programs, a Lab School serving preschool through age 12, and up-to-date faculty research on Montessori methods.

The Xavier Experience

Core—The MEd in Montessori Education requires 30 credit hours of coursework.

Credentials—The American Montessori Society Early Childhood and Elementary I Credentials and the Ohio Pre-Kindergarten and K-3 Licensure are offered in addition to the MEd.

Practicum—All students are required to participate in a practicum in an accredited American Montessori School.

Flexible schedules—Students may attend full time or part time.
