The Preschool Credential short-term certificate program is designed to provide specialized training for early childhood teachers and directors working with preschool-aged children. The program focuses on the foundations of early childhood education; health, safety and nutrition; child development; art, music and language arts; and early childhood behaviors. Those who complete this certificate are eligible to submit a portfolio of their competencies to the Wisconsin Recognition System for the Childhood Care and Education Profession registry and apply for the Wisconsin Preschool Professional Credential awarded by that agency. Some credits earned in this short-term certificate program may be applied toward the Early Childhood Education Associate of Applied Science Degree program within WCTC’s School of Protective & Human Services.
