Title of the PhD project: “Dimensions of tax design”
Supervisor: Laurent Simula, Professor of Economics, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (formerly professor at Grenoble Alpes University)
The appointed PhD student will conduct research in public economics, with a special emphasis on income taxation and redistribution. These research directions are indicative and will be further discussed with the appointed PhD student, who is asked to submit a research project with his/her application.
- must hold a Master's degree (or be about to earn one) or have a university degree equivalent to a European Master's (5-year duration);
- must have advanced knowledge of microeconomics and econometrics.
Applications will be evaluated through a three-step process.
Step 1 - deadline August 1st, 2017 at 17:00 (CET): Interested applicants should submit a copy of their last diploma, a detailed CV with a short description of the courses they attended in microeconomics, econometrics and public economics (if any), as well as two recommendation letters.
Step 2: Shortlisted students will be asked to write a short research project (2 -3 pages), to be submitted by August 24th, 2017 at 17:00 (CET).
Step 3: A review board will evaluate the research projects and invite shortlisted students for interviews. Interviews will take place in Grenoble on September 4th, 2017. Skype interviews may be organized.
