The Asian Dynamics Initiative at University of Copenhagen is hosting a two day conference 'Rising Asia, Anxious Europe' in May 2012. The opening day of the conference will be a public event with invited keynote speakers, and the following day will be made up of a number of parallel panels and workshops from various disciplines within humanities and social science.

One of the panels/workshops will be centered around the theme 'Shifting centres of gravity - how are economic ties between Europe and Asia changing form?'. The workshop aims to bring together international scholars, to exchange ideas, and to discuss recent results in theoretical and empirical research on trade.

All papers in the field of international trade and globalization will be considered, but we particularly encourage researchers to submit papers/abstracts on topics such as offshoring, foreign direct investment, trade with China and other Asian countries, service trade, quality differentiation and firm heterogeneity.

The panel/workshop is open to researchers whose papers are not on the program.

Abstract submission: Abstracts (250 words) should be submitted by 15 January 2012 to the organizing committee (email to marie.yoshida@nias.ku.dk).  The committee will notify abstract submitters of acceptance by email no later than 27 January 2012.
