Huaxin Wang-Lu

Huaxin is a second-year PhD student at Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona), with an MSc in Economics from the University of Konstanz (Germany). She has been employed as a research assistant to Dr. Octasiano Valerio Mendoza with a full PhD scholarship. Her current research lines consist of China's internal migration, child development, human mobility, and COVID-19. At this moment, she has three working papers that are under review in journals. She has been a research member of two projects that are funded, respectively, by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. She is also a member of the Social Economics & Ethics Group at IQS and of the organizing committee of the 1st International Workshop on the Chinese Development Model. In February 2022, she was selected as one of the 13 recipients of SEBAP (Barcelona Economics Society Friends of the Country)'s mobility grant, which will fund her research stay at Heidelberg University. Prior to her doctoral studies, she received an Erasmus+ grant to visit the University of Essex (UK) and worked as a data analyst in Shanghai.
