The Department of Economics at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2027, preferably with a specialization in Industrial Organization, Environmental Economics, Energy, or Public Economics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The typical teaching load is 3-3 with normally two preparations per semester and will typically include introductory economics. Willingness to teach natural resources economics is desirable.

Qualifications:

The applicant must have a Ph.D. Strong ABD candidates will be considered under the condition that the candidate’s final dissertation defense must be successful no later than August 1, 2027. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and a productive agenda for scholarly research.
