Postdoctoral Researcher in International Trade (m/w/d) (100%)

The contract is initially for three years, extendable, with salary according to TV-L E13. The preferred start is Fall 2025, but we are flexible for well-qualified candidates.

Your responsibilities

  • Independent research in the field of international trade and industrial policy (e.g., on firm-level production networks)
  • Presenting research at international workshops, conferences, and seminars
  • Publishing in high-ranking international academic journals
  • Apply for and manage third-party research funding independently or collaboratively
  • Contributing to teaching in German and English and supervising theses (4 teaching hours per week per semester including theses supervision)
  • Assisting with the organization of events and conferences

Your profile

  • Excellent academic degree and a very strong PhD in Economics, with a focus on International Trade
  • Solid background in theoretical modeling and state-of the art empirical methods
  • Independent, well-structured working style and enthusiasm for research and teaching
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both German and English
