Position: Part-time, temporary position (2 years)

Valuable work: your role with us

Your role will be to support the academic work of the Research Centre in the field of empirical microeconomics. You will be involved in the Research Centre’s survey projects, in particular. You will be responsible for preparing and analysing microdata, especially on the behaviour and expectations of firms. As part of an international team, your work will centre on fundamental issues, with the resulting insights intended to provide a sound academic footing for the Deutsche Bundesbank’s decisions. You will have access to excellent IT facilities and first-class data resources, and will have the opportunity to interact with leading international researchers.

Unique assets: your skills and qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a degree programme with a quantitative focus (e.g. economics or statistics)
  • Soon to be enrolled in or already pursuing a PhD programme in economics, business administration or statistics
  • Very good command of English

In addition, desirable:

  • Working towards a specialisation in empirical microeconomics
  • Good knowledge of mathematical/statistical applications, especially Stata (or R)
  • Applied knowledge in using microdata, preferably survey data
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Organisational skills as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of German

Remuneration that corresponds to pay grade E 13 of the wage agreement for the public sector (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TVöD) plus a bank allowance, international working environment, varied tasks, extensive training opportunities, support for your PhD/doctorate degree.
