The Arab Planning Institute (API), a leading regional non-profit development organization based in Kuwait City, is seeking accomplished and motivated economists to fill the position of Expert or Senior Expert. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth economic studies on regional development challenges; drafting technical reports, policy briefs, and analytical papers for policymakers; designing and supervising executive training programs in planning and development; providing evidence-based advisory services to governments and development institutions; and representing the API at regional and international meetings and conferences. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in economics from a leading university, has significant postdoctoral experience (typically 5 years or more for an expert and 10 years or more for a senior expert), a strong track record of publications, as well as advanced skills in econometrics and modeling. Fluency in Arabic and English, and knowledge of French is considered asset.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced applied economic research addressing development challenges in the Arab region
- Produce technical reports, policy briefs, and analytical studies for decision-makers
- Designing training programs in planning and development fields
- Delivering evidence-based economic advisory services to governments and institutions
- Representing the Institute at regional and international conferences, forums, and high-level meetings
Ideal Candidate Profile
- PhD in Economics from a highly ranked and internationally recognized university
- Minimum of 5 years (for experts) and 10 years (for senior experts) of relevant professional experience
- Extensive publishing experience, supported by citations in recognized databases
- Proven track record in designing and delivering training programs
- Advanced expertise in econometrics and modeling, with proficiency in Python or R
- Experience in applying AI and machine learning to economic forecasting and decision-making is an asset
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken); French is an advantage
- Candidates under 40(for experts) and 45 (for senior experts) years of age are preferred
