Within Faculty IV in the department of Business Administration, the chair of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets (Professor Axel Adam-Müller) invites applications for the following position, to be filled as soon as possible:

Postdoc (m/f/x)

Salary scale E 13 TV-L, full time (100%). The position is fixed-term for three years and is intended to support postdoc studies (habilitation or equivalent research achievements) in accordance with the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG).

Your responsibilities

  • research in corporate finance
    • conducting independent research, for example in the areas of Sustainable Finance, corporate risk management or private credit
    • preparing academic publications and research reports
    • presenting research findings at conferences and workshops
  • teaching in corporate finance
    • assisting with the design and delivery of teaching activities in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
    • supervising and supporting students with undergraduate and postgraduate thesis projects
  • administrative duties
    • supporting the administrative activities of the chair

What we expect

  • master’s degree (or equivalent) completed with excellent results in one of the following disciplines:
    • business administration or economics
    • mathematics, financial mathematics, or statistics or
    • a related discipline with a strong business or economics focus
  • PhD / doctoral degree in a relevant field
  • strong interest in research and teaching in the field of corporate finance
  • experience in quantitative research methods
  • excellent written and spoken English
  • the ability to work independently, together with a high level of commitment, flexibility, teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
  • eligibility for appointment in accordance with Section 57 (2) and (3) of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act (HochSchG)
