WIFO is looking for a Scientific Project Staff, Prae-Doc (m/f/d, 30hrs/week) for the research group Industrial, Innovation and International Economics within the framework of the Research Centre International Economics (FIW) a third party funded Prae-Doc position in the field of "International Economics".
The position is a project-funded part-time job with 30 hours per week, limited to 48 months from the start date.

Main Responsibilities
- Completion of a doctoral program and writing of a dissertation in the field of ‘International Economics’ at University of Economics Vienna with content and methodological embedding in the research activities of WIFO
- Participation in the activities of ‘Research Centre International Economics’ (FIW)
- Independent, applied empirical economic research
- Active participation in the research activities of WIFO and the FIW research focus
General Requirements
- Completed diploma or master's degree in social and economic sciences with a focus on economics or a comparable degree program
- Knowledge of economic theory and a documented interest in theoretically based empirical work
- Very good methodological skills (data science, mathematics, statistics, econometrics)
- Experience with relevant software (e.g. R, Eviews, Stata, Matlab, LaTeX)
- Ability to work independently in a scientific manner
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
- Team communication skills
- Interest in or initial experience in modelling trade models is an advantage
