Tenured Professor or Associate Professor in Data Science, Tohoku University, Japan

Tohoku University, designated as Japan’s first University for International Research Excellence, invites applications for a tenured faculty position in Data Science at the Graduate School of Economics and Management. This position is part of the university's initiative to promote cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary fields. The appointed faculty member will be exempt from administrative duties and will enjoy an environment conducive to advanced academic research. Supervising students is optional.

We welcome applicants with strong research backgrounds in Data Science, Econometrics, Statistical Learning, or related areas, particularly those who address contemporary societal challenges using data-driven approaches. Areas of interest include marketing, education, psychology, urban engineering, finance, policy analysis, institutional design, and socio-technical systems. Theoretical researchers who pursue the mathematical foundations of data science are also encouraged to apply.
