The study profile "Economic Policy and Journalism" is designed for BA graduates in Economics or an equivalent major, who wish to acquire professional journalistic skills. Combining advanced economics studies and hands-on journalism, students learn how to communicate complex economic issues clearly across media platforms. The full-time two-year study program is complemented by internships at leading media organizations, preparing students for careers beyond journalism.
Study content
The inter-disciplinary curriculum provides a variety of English-language courses in both Economics and Journalism. Students acquire basic journalistic skills such as research and writing techniques during the first semester before continuing to more advanced hands-on journalism training in higher semesters. Two integrated internships at renowned media organizations help refining journalistic skills. Graduates will be proficient in print, broadcast and digital media.
At the same time, students broaden their academic understanding of economics through attendance of MA level economics classes. They will furthermore learn how to combine economic analyses and journalistic know how.
