Learn to use data to develop and apply mathematical models and advanced techniques such as optimization, machine learning and supply chain analytics to solve complex challenges. During the Master's program, you will gain the skills and responsibility to design innovative tools to enhance decision-making. You can choose to specialize in one of the two tracks: Business Analytics or Operations Research.

Program and courses

Develop the skills to build and apply mathematical models and analytical methods in real-world decision-making and effectively communicate insights to decision-makers.

At the start of your Master's, you are asked to complete a Study Plan. The choice of courses that you make will define the track you are following either the Business Analytics (BA) track or the Operations Research (OR) track.

  • The Business Analytics track teaches you the science of using data to build models that drive decisions, adding value to institutions, companies, and individuals.
  • The Operations Research track teaches you the discipline focused on developing and applying analytical methods and techniques to improve decision-making. Nearly all of these methods and techniques involve constructing mathematical models that describe the decision-making process in question.

Typical courses are:

  • Machine Learning Analytics
  • Supply Chain Analytics
  • Decision Making under Uncertainty
  • Professional Business Analytics Skills (BA track)
  • Mathematical Optimization (OR track)

Career prospects

Your quantitative modelling expertise will open up extensive career opportunities in the private sector, as well as in the public and non-profit sectors.  Our alumni work within operations research firms, consultancy firms, operations research departments, and logistics applications providers.

Graduates work or start for example as:

  • Optimization Algorithm Expert at Quintiq
  • Supply Chain Consultant at ORTEC
  • Quantitative Analyst at Rabobank Nederland

Start dates

  • End of August
  • End of January
