PhD in Economics, Management and Methods for the Sustainable Transition 2025-26 (Cycle 41).
Basic information: Three-year programme in economics and management offered by the University of Ferrara, Department of Economics and Management.
Teaching and working language: English.
Programme structure: Year 1 - coursework, data labs, weekly seminars in Ferrara; Year 2 - thesis development and international research visits; Year 3- research at Ferrara and other international institutions, thesis completion.
Research themes: Economics and management of innovation, ecological and digital transitions, sustainability policy, public economics, impact evaluation, sustainable entrepreneurship, organisational change, performance measurement. Facilities: workspace, IT labs, full library access, multi‑disciplinary databases.
Entry requirements: Laurea Magistrale/Master degree by Oct 2025.

Join the University of Ferrara – a historic institution founded in 1391 and internationally recognised for its contributions to research – for the 2025/26 edition of its interdisciplinary PhD in Economics, Management and Methods for the Sustainable Transition. Hosted by the Department of Economics and Management, the programme explores how economic systems, firms and institutions adapt to the demands of ecological and digital transitions. Particular emphasis is placed on sustainability, innovation, and the integration of quantitative methods into applied economic and managerial research. English is the programme’s working language.
