University of Surrey in Guildford, UK
Our one week Summer School offers two parallel four-day courses on Foundations and Advanced Topics in DSGE Modelling and Macroeconomics. The Foundations course is aimed at students and early career researchers, while the Advanced course is aimed at more established researchers or advanced PhD students. On day 5, participants from both courses can join one of the four one-day standalone options covering: Financial Frictions, DSGE-VAR Models and Forecasting, Robust Quantitative Methods for Macro, and From Matlab to Python in One Day. We finish our Summer School with a one-day conference where all participants are invited to submit a paper on some aspect of DSGE modelling and macroeconomics. Notes and computer codes are distributed to participants in all courses. We follow a practical approach where theory is complemented with hands-on practical computer sessions, allowing participants to quickly apply these methods in their own research. We provide a three-course lunch every day in our on-campus restaurant, and offer campus accommodation at very competitive rates within a short walking distance from our venue.

This summer school offers research-oriented teaching by leading experts in their fields. During 2 weeks, from June 17th to June 28th, the 2019 edition will propose ten programs in Paris. It is aimed at professionals, researchers, as well as graduate students in Economics and Finance (Masters and PhD). The Economic Policies Research Unit (NIPE) is pleased to announce its 16th Summer School on “Regression Discontinuity Designs”.The course will be taught by Professor Matias D. Cattaneo (University of Michigan) at the University of Minho, School of Economics and Management, Braga, Portugal, between June 3rd and June 6th 2019. This summer school provides an introduction to standard and recent methodological developments in the analysis and interpretation of regression discontinuity (RD) designs. It focuses on methodology and empirical practice and will employ several empirical illustrations, which will be analyzed using Stata.Topics to be discussed include Identification, Falsification, and Conventional Methods, Modern Continuity Based Methods, Modern Local Randomization Based Methods. On the last day of the Summer School, June 6th, Professor Matias D. Cattaneo will be presenting a seminar.
