Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI)

The mission of the ESRI is to produce quality research that contributes to understanding economic and social change in the new international context and that informs public policymaking and civil society in Ireland. ESRI's research has been a vital constituent in national debates on economic and social issues for more than 50 years.The primary goal of ESRI is to develop and implement a sustainable research agenda that matches closely the current economic and social challenges facing Ireland. ESRI's most important resource is its research staff, whose high levels of expertise allow them to work to international standards of excellence. The results of the Institute's research have been included in hundreds of reports published by the ESRI, including the Quarterly Economic Commentary and the Medium-Term Review of the Irish Economy, as well as in numerous books and articles in academic journals, published in Ireland and abroad.
