After our post last summer about the trend for conferences and prizes aimed at young economists, several further events are coming up this year, which could be of interest to PhD students and young researchers. Some of these are specifically for students or junior academics whilst others offer financial support or prizes to those attending or presenting papers at the meeting.

Sixth National Graduate Students in Economics Conference – VI CNEPE 2013 (May 23rd-24th, 2013)

Regional Integration: Europe, the Mediterranean and the World Economy (August 27th-31st, 2013)

Each annual ERSA conference includes the EPAINOS award for young regional scientists. There are also special sessions each year for entrants for young scholars entering the competition, and cash prizes for the winners and runners up.

40th Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE 2013) (August 30th – September 1st)

This major conference has, since 1989, included several “Young Economists’ Essay Awards”, which include scholarships and prizes for upcoming talents in the field of industrial economics.
