Hybrid format: face to face and through Zoom
Rising geopolitical tensions, the decline of unipolarity and the resurgence of regional alliances are reshaping global governance, while the climate crisis is driving a green transition that is redefining industries, labour markets and trade. ICOPEC 2027 invites scholars, policymakers and practitioners to examine these intertwined dynamics critically and to explore pathways to a resilient and inclusive global order.
Topics include: geopolitical realignments and multipolarity (BRICS, ASEAN, the African Union); resource wars, critical minerals and energy security; global governance in crisis; financing sustainability and green inequities; labour and just transitions; deglobalisation, value chains and carbon border taxes; informal economies; climate, inequality and migration; AI, automation and techno-authoritarianism; health and well-being; social movements and populism; education and the research–policy interface; green cities and rural–urban linkages; the political philosophy of sustainability.
Submission: abstracts of 150–250 words (at least three keywords) via https://www.icopec.org/registration-form/. Full papers are optional. Acceptance decisions within 5 working days.
Abstract deadlines: 12 January 2027 (early bird) · 17 January 2027 (regular) · 17 February 2027 (late). Last Call: 24 January 2027.
Fees: from €80 (students/non-employed from €60); audience participation is free; 20% discount for partner institutions.
Publication: proceedings e-book (IJOPEC Publication); peer-reviewed, revised papers as free international e-book chapters with ISBN (24 March 2027); selected papers in World Journal of Applied Economics, Journal of Current Debates in Social Sciences (CUDES, ICOPEC 2027 special issue) and Mesopotamia Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies.
