Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior (f/m/d) – Tenure Track
located at WHU Campus Düsseldorf, starting January 1, 2026 or later.
Academic Environment
WHU has more than 60 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU adheres to three research principles: quality, internationality, as well as practical and academic relevance. Job Description
- Performing excellent research in the field of Organizational Behavior with an emphasis on Leadership and/or Business Psychology and publishing in leading research journals
- Conducting teaching across the various WHU degree programs in English, including the Business Psychology Bachelor programs, for example, in courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Resource Management, etc. and willingness to teach in Executive Education programs
- Mentoring final theses (Bachelor, Master, MBA) and doctoral students
- Performing services to the academic community
Job Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualification in Work and Organizational Psychology or Management or a closely related discipline with an emphasis on Leadership and/or Business Psychology
- Outstanding research record as evidenced by publications in leading academic journals, presentations at excellent conferences, or a promising research pipeline
- Strong passion for teaching, reflected in a commitment to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment
- Outstanding English communication skills
- International experience is advantageous
What we offer
WHU offers a competitive salary as well as an attractive package consisting of a research budget and a mentoring program for Assistant Professors. The appointment is for six years. The teaching load is typically 72 academic hours per academic year, subject to adjustment based on WHU needs. WHU offers the opportunity for tenure-track if the WHU requirements for a tenure-track are met (e.g., excellence in research).
