The Chair of Economics, esp. Sustainable Economic Policy at our Ingolstadt School of Management invites applications for a full-time position (100 %) as

research associate (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d))

to be filled by the earliest possible starting date, initially for a limited period of 2 years with the envisaged option of an extension. The place of work will be Ingolstadt. Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration in the private-law employment relationship will be according to the pay grade E 13 TV-L. Under certain conditions, the position can also be split between two part-time positions (50 %). The successful candidate may also pursue doctoral or habilitation research as part of their work if desired; the University is particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates who wish to make use of this opportunity.

Your tasks

• Applied, economic policy-relevant research in the field of economics, with a clear reference to environmental economics, the economics of climate change or other sustainability topics, including labor economics, migration economics or other subject areas
• Teaching to the extent of 5 semester hours per week (SWS), in particular as a contribution to the Bachelor's degree program in "Sustainability in Business and Economics" in English and, if possible, in German
• Conceptualization, acquisition, management and processing of third-party funded projects
• Communicating research results to the general public

Your profile

Postdoctoral researcher (Habilitand)

• Degree in economics or a related discipline when starting the position
• For postdoctoral applicants: completed doctoral degree when starting the position
• The goal is to achieve the publication of your research results in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals
• Substantiated knowledge of the methods of applied microeconometrics
• Sound application of modern empirical methods
• Very good written and spoken English skills and a willingness to teach in English
• Ability to work in a team and willingness to take on responsibility
• Experience in dealing with large data sets and machine learning methods desirable
• German language skills are an advantage

Doctoral candidate

• Degree in economics or a related discipline when starting the position
• Substantiated knowledge of the methods of applied microeconometrics
