The University of Graz is seeking an university assistant to work in the area of Microeconomic Theory. This position involves writing a dissertation, participating in research projects, and independent teaching.

Hours per week: 30 h/w

Duration of Contract: Temporary employment, 4 years

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the area of Microeconomic Theory (Game Theory, Mechanism Design, Decision Theory) – supervised by Prof. Kuzmics
  • Participation in research projects of the institute in the field of Microeconomic Theory
  • Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks in the field of economics, especially microeconomics
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
  • Open to cooperation with researchers outside the Department of Economics (also internationally) (desirable)

Your Profile

  • Completed diploma or master’s degree in economics, mathematics, mathematical economics or another programme related to the field of research
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Very good mathematical skills (highly desirable)
  • Scientific curiosity and interest in working on current research questions
  • Independent working style and high level of initiative
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills
