Postdoctoral researcher
(Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (m/w/d))
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible starting date, initially for a fixed term of two years, with the possibility of extension for up to a total duration of five years. The place of work will be Ingolstadt. Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration in the private-law employment relationship will be according to the pay grade E 13 TV-L. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and is expressly desired to complete a habilitation.
Your responsibilities
- Applied, policy-relevant research in the field of economics, with a clear reference to environmental economics, the economics of climate change, or other sustainability topics, e.g. labor economics, migration economics or other subjects
- Teaching amounting to 5 semester hours per week (LVS), particularly contributing to the Bachelor’s degree program in “Sustainability in Business and Economics”, with courses taught in both English and – if possible – German.
- Conceptualization, acquisition, management and processing of third-party funded projects
- Communicating your research results to the general public
Your profile
- Completed doctorate (PhD) in economics or a related discipline by the time of employment
- Degree in economics or a closely related field
- Publications of your research results in internationally-recognized, peer-reviewed journals
- Thorough knowledge of applied microeconometrics and modern methods of applied economics
- Experience with large data sets and machine learning methods desirable
- Very good written and spoken English skills and a willingness to teach in English
- German language skills are an asset, but not mandatory
- You enjoy working in a team and take responsibility for yourself and others
You are encouraged to actively contribute your own research interests to the Chair’s ongoing activities in both research and teaching. You will receive support in completing current research projects, publishing them and pursuing your research agenda.
